My good friend (and first photography teacher!) Joerg Lehmann was going to be in the country for a few days from Australia, so I set to work on styling a shoot for us to collaborate on during his trip. Growing up in Woodland, CA, I had always wanted to check out Reiff’s gas station, and decided that this shoot was a perfect opportunity to discover it. No 1950s shoot is complete without decade appropriate hair and make-up, and that’s where our fabulous team came in! In these shots you will see hair by Amanda Walker (of Salon Jewel) and Dana Lyle (of Maribou Spa Salon), as well as makeup by Veronica Marshall (Dolce Vita Artistry Pro

) and Dana Lyle. As luck would have it, I was able to borrow some vintage 50s wardrobe (special thanks to costume designers Jesse Larrosa and Denise Miles!). Jesse styled the shoot on site and helped create the looks you see. Meanwhile, Jason Spyres was on set assisting with set up and coordination, and I am so grateful he was there! Jason also helped by taking some behind the scenes photos for us that evening. Big thanks to all our models for the evening, as well: Kara Stoller, Quentin Carbajal, Danielle DeBow, Kendra Evans, Jordan Waldron, and Nick Hammang.

I must also send a thank you to Jordan for showing up in her grandpa’s classic car! It added so much to our shoot, as you will see below…
